About the Role:
As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the financial management of service charge accounts and contribute to the overall accounting operations of the business. Reporting directly to the Head of Accounts, you’ll work across both commercial property management and company accounts within a collaborative, hardworking, and friendly department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain service charge accounts in line with RICS regulations
- Prepare and review service charge budgets
- Produce client statements and reports as required
- Handle VAT reporting
- Liaise with the property management team to resolve account queries
- Assist with production of year-end accounts alongside external accountants
- Provide support across the company accounts
What We’re Looking For:
- AAT qualified or equivalent (e.g., BSc in Accounting); study support offered for those wishing to pursue further accountancy qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, any experience in using Qube would be ideal however not essential
- Understanding of profit & loss and balance sheet reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A proactive team player with great communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in commercial property management accounts is not essential, but familiarity with service charge accounts and RICS guidelines is a definite advantage.
